The Centre for Gospels and Acts Research

The Sydney College of Divinity Centre for Gospels and Acts Research (CGAR) promotes research into the four Gospels and, the connections with Luke and the Book of Acts. It seeks to foster better understanding of these foundational documents of historical Christianity, and encourages research from a variety of methodological perspectives, including historical, archaeological, theological, exegetical, literary, sociological, feminist, and text-critical approaches. A key part of the Centre’s work is the publication of its journal, JGAR, the Journal of Gospels and Act Research, by SCD Press.

Become a Member

Membership to the Sydney College of Divinity Centre for Gospels and Acts Research is valid for one calendar year.

Membership is open in the following categories:

 

Member | AUD$90 Annual Fee

Requirements
Members should hold a PhD or a substantial publication record in the field of Gospel or Acts.

Benefits
Members will

1. Fully participate in the quarterly meetings, occasional seminars, and the biennial Conference;
2. Propose themes and topics to be discussed;
3. Receive a copy of the Journal of Gospels and Acts Research to be published in September;
4. Receive a 10% discount on conference fees; and
5. Receive a 10% discount on SCD publications.

 

Associate Member | AUD$70 Annual Fee

Requirements
Associate Members should hold a PhD or a substantial publication record in another field of Biblical or Theological Research.

Benefits
Associate Members will:

1. have the choice to attend the quarterly meetings, occasional seminars, and the biennial Conference;
2. have the opportunity to be invited to occasionally contribute;
3. receive a copy of the Journal of Gospels and Acts Research to be published in September;
4. receive 10% discount on conference fees; and
5. receive 10% discount on SCD publications.

 

Student Member | AUD$50 Annual Fee

Requirements
Student Members should be enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research in the field of the Gospels or Acts.

Benefits
Student Members will:

1. have the choice to attend the quarterly meetings, occasional seminars, and the biennial Conference;
2. receive a copy of the Journal of Gospels and Acts Research to be published in September;
3. receive a 10% discount on conference fees;
4. receive a 10% discount on SCD publications.

 

Friend | AUD$60 Annual Fee

The Centre invites any other person interested in applying to become a friend of the Centre.

Friends will:
